I've Come To Make An Announcement
In the great words of Eggman, I've come to make an announcement: Sonic the Hedgehog 3 is, if not the best gaming film this year, certainly the best of the past decade. With its witty comedy, fantastic action, and impactful character moments, I was impressed not by its lore but enjoyed watching the blue blur fighting hot topic translated beautifully from the original Sonic Adventures 2 game.

Shadow The Hedgehog
Going straight into the best highlight, the hot topic himself, Shadow the Hedgehog, genuinely took my breath away. It wasn't just his interactions or fights that captivated me, but the tragedy behind his character deeply impacted me. His emotional story revolves around wanting to get vengeance for Maria Robotnik, daughter of Gerald Robotnik(Played by the infamous Jim Carrey himself), for her kindness in seeing Shadow as not GUN's lab experiment but a mistreated creature who has feelings and a heart as well. Keanu Reeve's tortured yet powerful performance in Shadow's character truly showcases how the idea of letting grief blind you in rage is impactful. Throughout this movie, I dare say that Keanu Reeves' involvement in playing Shadow elevates the movie's storytelling.

W Villains W Fun
Despite the serious emotional performance from Keanu Reeve's Shadow, Jim Carrey's golden performance in not playing one Robotnik but two in Ivo Robotnik meeting his grandfather Gerald Robotnik. His delivery and performance in playing both characters were a blast to watch their bond forming in two geniuses coming together to take over the earth. Comedy wasn't the only thing that pushed the plot forward but his tragedy in losing his granddaughter Maria in a terrible accident in GUN's base. This pushes Gerald's hunger for destruction further in wiping humanity off the planet. To rate his performance, it was marvellous how he carried his role throughout the trilogy.

The Blue Blur's Journey
Moving on to Sonic himself and his enjoyable yet emotional hero arc from protecting his new home earth to not letting his pain consume him; it was a delight to watch him grow into the iconic hero he aspires to be. The third instalment of Sonic showcases Sonic's dealing with pain contrasted with Shadow's pain while Sonic and his team Knuckles and Tails find the second key to the arc before Eggman and his grandfather steal it to take over the world.
It highlights the challenges Sonic must overcome in not just saving the planet but also protecting his family without causing the exact pain to those who harm the world. Especially overthrowing the idea of becoming something he hates in an intense yet emotional scene where Sonic and Shadow talk about suffering and learn to let go of that pain. This heartily shows Sonic's growth in becoming a hero who protects yet inspires those around him to let go of the past and strive towards redemption.

Live And Learn
Moving on to the monumental payoff in the climax is the iconic team-up from Super Shadow and Super Sonic to stop the arc from destroying the earth. The sublime dap that shook the universe, the magnificent dragon ball style choreography that pulls you in, the perfectly juggling emotions that truly make the characters shine and the ecstatic live and learn that continues to make everyone excitedly jump out of their seat; It is an amazing movie for kids and adults especially for sonic fans despite having some flaws such as over the top comedy and a short exploration of Shadow's backstory; it remains a great movie that everyone should watch with two special mid and post-credits you must stay seated for.
